Zion Williamson not enough for Game Elite

SPARTANBURG, SC - When you walk into ay gym with multiple courts and you want to find out where Zion Williamson is playing, just follow the crowd. His explosiveness and high level finishing ability is legendary at this point but he's always up to the expectations. Last night his SC Supreme team faced off against Game Elite, the top 16U team on any shoe circuit. Williamson, finished with 32 & 13 with some highlight blocks, did his best to keep his team around but GE had too many weapons.

Game Elite is led by Ashton Hagans, who runs this machine with precision, sets the tone on both ends. He pushes tempo always looking to set-up his teammates and is disruptive ball defender. His size and quicks allow him to get into the lane to collapse the defense, find open shooters and cutters. His choices are many. Christian Brown and Josh Nickleberry sprinting the lanes, Calvin Felder and Jaylin Williams running rim to rim.

Brown is a high level slasher and finisher with an ever improving jumper, defends and possesses a high motor, Nickleberry shoots it deep, has the athletic ability to finish at the rim and and is disruptive in the passing lanes. Felder, shows steady improvement, battled on the glass, finished through contact and defends the block, while Wiliams is consistent to 17-feet, has a soft touch in the lane and a very good help-side defender.

Collin Castleton (Team Knght) had a terrific day, look for the long 6-9 stretch to pick up additional offers from his play on Thursday, Matthew Hurt (D1 Minnesota) is hitting his stride after being down to injury, he cleared a double-double in his teams win and has a match-up with EJ Montgomery and the Celtics on Friday. 2019 G Sharif Kinney (New World) was tough to keep out the lane, using his change of pace to beat his defender and his strength to finish plays in the lane. High IQ baller. Luguentz Dort (Brookwood Elite) played winning basketball on both ends, he rebounds his position, finished plays around the basket with his high level bounce and strength. Reggie Perry (Arkansas Hawks) displayed his varied skill set as a stretch-four. Can shoot it with range, rebound it and start the break, pass out the block and high post.
